4th Annual Northern Illinois University Ethics Case Competition
Hello! It is with great delight that the LEAD (Leaders in Ethics and Academic Discipline) student organization announces its 4th Annual Northern Illinois University Ethics Case Competition at Barsema Hall in DeKalb, on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 8:00am – 3:30pm. This event allows students in teams of two an opportunity to analyze an ethical dilemma and to present their solution to the case in front of a panel of judges. Typically, judges consist of NIU alumni, faculty, staff, and corporate representatives, as well as other honored guests.
This year, we will have a dual-track competition: one for NIU College of Business students, and one for regional high school students. NIU Business competitors will compete for cash prizes, while the high school competitors will compete for trophies. We need you to be one of the judges in this competition. It is a unique way to not only meet a variety of students but to have a positive impact on the development of their analytical and communication skills. Unless specified, judges will be randomly assigned to either the college track or the high school track.
We will provide you with all pertinent information on competition day along with a brief training for all judges. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided for all judges, along with a token of appreciation for volunteering your valuable time. Please let us know if you have interest in participating this year by communicating with NIU Business student Mary Ellen Walter (firstname.lastname@example.org). If you know anyone else who would be interested in judging for the competition please forward this information to them. We need all responses no later than Friday, February 7th.
Thank you in advance for considering this unique and fun opportunity. We look forward to hearing from each of you soon!
